Great Snipe

Inspired by one of Mary Queen of Scots' many embroideries worked while imprisoned. Not a stitch-for-stitch reproduction, but a close tribute, with text translated to English. An homage to the Red Queen herself.

Model stitched 1 over 2 on 40 count mallow linen. Substituted Dinky Dyes S-293 Nutmeg for the snipe body, charted as DMC 3861.

140 x 140 stitches. Finished size 6.75" square.
